Bethuel JONES was born on Aug 31, 1811. He died on Jan 19, 1832. "Bethuel Jones, father of Ebenezer R. Jones, who was twice commissioner of the county, took up land at one time occupied by Eliphalet Flint. Before Mr. Jones died, he and his son, Ebenezer, had cleared up and improved an excellent farm. Many years ago one of the old gentleman's sons came from Connecticut, his father's native home, on a visit. Supposing that there would be rare sport in hunting deer, he went with his brother, Ebenezer, to the woods, shot at a deer, which fell; he eagerly jumped upon the deer to cut its throat, but the struggling animal struck the knife with his hind foot, changing its direction, and causing the knife to sever the femoral artery of the young man's left leg. He fell over and died in a few minutes." Parents: Bethuel JONES and Lydia ROGERS.

Carl JOSEPHSON was born on Apr 15, 1918 in New Britain, Connecticut. He died on Mar 19, 2001 in Southington, Connecticut. Carl was a very close friend that I shared many a shot and beer with while we lived in Southington from 1985 to 1991. He was a grandfather figure to my daughters Katie and Becky. He always had good advice and time to help you. He kept an eye on the neighborhood.

Here's my daughter Katie's memory:

Carl kept the neighborhood together - he was always walking around keeping
tabs on everybody. He always had a kind word, and he always looked out for
everyone. The kids loved him, especially the Bentley kids - oh boy did I
love going to Carl's to swim in his pool. Not just because it was a hot
summer day, but because Carl and Jemma always had cookies or mini snickers
bars for us. Everytime. And halloween was great - they were always home to
give candy out to the kids. And Carl was always out and about in the
neighborhood. I remember stopping to talk to him while I was bike riding
around the streets, and he was always so cheery and friendly. Even after my
family moved Carl called to check in with us and see how we were doing, and
to update us on the latest neighborhood changes and happenings. I will
always hold those memories or Carl in my childhood, and his memory and good
nature will live on in my heart as well as others that knew him.

God Bless..... -Katie Bentley
