Her sister, Dorothy Paine, married ??Dr. Simon Eire, who was one of the early settlers in Wate?? ??own, where he took a very prominent part in the affairs ?? ??e town until his removal to Boston about 1645. She was the mother of all of his children except two by ?? ??econd wife, Martha, whom he married in Boston after t?? ??eath of wife Dorothy. Phebe Paine married John Pag????ho came to America from Dedham, County of Essex, England, in 1630. He was one of the first settlers in Waterto?? ??nd was the first Constable, having been appointed by t?? ??Court in Sept., 1630. He died in Watertown Dec. 18, 167?? ??aged about 90 years. She died Sept. 25, 1677, aged 87 years.

GEORGE PARKHURST is said to have resided in Ipswich,
County Suffolk, Eng., and to have come to New England
c. 1635. He married in England and his wife probably
died there. He was an inhabitant of Watertown, Mass.
in 1642, but before 4 Oct. 1645 had moved to Boston. He
disposed of his Watertown property between 1645 and 1655;
one grantee being his son-in-law, Thomas Arnold. He
is credited the father of 7 children: George, Benjamin,
Joseph, Phoebe, Deborah, Elizabeth and Mary. His daugh-
ter, Phoebe, married Thomas Arnold.

1996. PARKHURST George Parkhurst, the immigrant ancestor, came to this
country from England about 1635, bringing with him at least two children,
George Jr. and Phebe. He was living in Watertown, Massachusetts, in 1642,
and was admitted freeman in 1643. He owned a homestead of twelve acres
and a large tract of land, and was well-to-do. In 1645 he moved to
Boston, after selling his land in Watertown. He married (first) (???),
and (second) in 1645, Susanna, widow of John Simpson. Children, all by
first wife: George, mentioned below; Benjamin, born in England; Joseph,
of Chelmsford; Phebe, born in England, married Thomas Arnold.
