246. Bethuel
JONES was born on Mar 15, 1774 in Hebron, Connecticut. He
died on Nov 1, 1856 in Jonestown, Wayne County, PA. August 22nd,
1850
In the name of God, Amen. I, Bethuel Jones, in the township of Salem in the
County of Wayne and State of Pennsylvania yeoman being in good health of body
and of sound and disposing memory and being while settling my worldly affairs
while I have strength and capcity to do and I do make this my last will and testament
and publish the same hereby revoking and making void all former wills by me at
any time heretofore made. And first and principally I commit my Soul into the
house of my creator who gave it and my body other to be buried in a decent and
Christian like manner. And as to such Worldly property as it hath pleases the
Lord to bless me with, I dispose of the same as follows that is to say that I
order all my just debts and funeral expenses be in the first place paid and satisfied
and after payment thereof I find that my personal property be and remain divided
as it now is and that it remain as I dispose of it while living and as to my
Real estate I bequethe to my son Ebenezer all that part of our farm I now live
on which is south of the turnpike leading from said farm to Honesdale and south
and west of the area laid opened from the said farm and no longer on the Washington
or Pennsylvania railroad. I bequethe to my daughter Hannah all the remainder
of the farm. I bequethe to my daughter Elizabeth and two daughters (my Grand
Children) seventy five dollars apiece to be paid .... I nominate, constitute
, an appoint my son Ebenezer and Lawrence Tisdale my son-in-law to be executors
of my last will and testament
.... Jonestown, Wayne County, PA was named for his brother Asa who settled in
that area in 1803. Bethuel JONES and Hannah CHURCH were married on Mar 6, 1800
in Connecticut. 247. Hannah CHURCH was born in Jan 1770. She died
on Feb 6, 1801 in Colchester, CT. Buried at COLCHESTER BURYING GROUND
