New Orleans Vacation July, 2003...

First Stop - Bourbon Street	Saturday	Back again on Sunday	and Monday	and Tuesday	maybe some other day
After a good nite on Bourbon Street Saturday we needed a little "hair of the dog" to wake up Sunday	We went to Brennans for Brunch	...and their special flaming desert	They even let Marty help out	and took our pic.	Bubba Gumps has great strawberry - lemonade drinks
Bubbagumps	We went to a great Middle Eastern place - Byblos on Magazine St.	Fantastic Service!	The mornings usually started at Cafe du Monde with cafe au lait and beignets	She doesn't talk much, but a great listener	Nice art along the river near the cafe
We took a carriage ride one day instead of a cab whenwe couldn't walk any more	Fritzels was a great place for more traditional Jazz across from our hotel	Stayed at the Bourbon Orleans on Bourbon Street	nice digs	Down the street at Jackson Square there was lots of fortune tellers and artists	Jackson Square
Flying in you could see the swampland	More swamps from the air	We stopped at the marguaritaville cafe after our Tuesday morning swamp tour	Entertained the sparse crowd	and they loved it	Monday we went on the steamboat Natchez for a 2 hour trip
Air Conditioned inside with a band and food	Natchez Paddles	Natchez View of one of the oldest cathedrals in the USA	Natchez View of N'Awlins	Natchez View of oil refineries	The Old Opera House was our first taste of music and beer on Bourbon Street on Saturday
The 3 for 1 sign was not noticed until they brought us 6 beers when we ordered 2	We went back to the Opera House many times		The river has a great walking path along it	Good views from the riverwalk	The lower side streetcar near Jackson place
Back to the hotel room for a rest before going out again	There was a pool but we didn't take the time to enjoy it	Royal Street	St Charles Garden District1	St Charles Garden District2	St Charles Garden District3

We took the St Charles streetcar to see the Garden District	can't go wrong for $1.25 each way..about a 2 hour ride round trip	The streetwashers were out every morning cleaning up the party areas	We went on a swamp tour Tuesday morning	not buggy, about 2 hours long	the moss
down in the bayou	deep in the bayou	looking for....	Alligators	and more gators	and birds (gator food)
Muddy waters....	and more gators	and more	beautiful swamp	only pesky bug	in the swamp
BIG cypress trees	prime location... accessible only by boat	a great opportunity to get your own vacation palace	the only hokey part of the trip	One last drink - a hand grenade	And we can't wait until we can go back again.... GREAT MUSIC, GREAT FOOD, and friendly local people.
